"I'm going to write a blog post."

I have racked my brain over what I would want my first blog post to be about. Well, atleast my first official blog post. Last week, I published the post, "I'm not going to start a blog," to tell you I was going to start a blog. Today, I wanted to share with you, "I'm going to write a blog post." In fact, I've already written about 40 I am excited to share with you as the Lord wills. My plan is to post every Tuesday and Thursday of the week. My hope is to share with you the things the Lord has been teaching me and to grow together by continually turning our eyes to how the Gospel of Jesus Christ shines light into every area of our life.

I guess if I had to write a first blog post that is what I would want it to be about...the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What is the Gospel? I am fascinated by Pastor Ray Ortlund's definition of the Gospel in his book The Gospel: "[The Gospel is the good news that] God, through the perfect life, atoning death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, rescues all his people from the wrath of God into peace with God, with a promise of the full restoration of his created order forever--all to the praise of the glory of his grace."

Of course, who are his people? Those who trust in Jesus Christ by grace through faith. The Gospel is the good news for those who believe in Jesus Christ and find their all in him. My hope is through this blog, those who have trusted Jesus Christ would be strengthened in their faith in all walks of life. My hope is also those who have not trusted Jesus Christ, would see their need for him and trust in him. Most of all, I pray the aroma of this blog is the gospel and God is glorified through it!
